Gardai are at the scene of a serious accident on the N20 Cork to Limerick road.
A car and a truck were involved in a crash at approximately 7am this morning.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are currently dealing with a serious road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 7am this morning, Monday August 12the 2019 at Newtwopothouse on the N20, Cork to Limerick Road."
AA Roadwatch said: "The N20 is closed until further notice on the Mallow side of New Twopothouse as Gardai deal with a serious crash. Diversions are in place.
"Traffic is heavy on the route approaching the turn-off for Lisgriffin Cross from the city side as motorists divert, with traffic slow too approaching the incident."
