Gardai have arrested two men following an aggravated robbery at an Irish shop which led to a cross country garda chase.
The robbery occurred at a shop on Main Street, Rathcoole, Co Dublin, at approximately 9.30pm on Saturday, August 21.
Gardai said two armed males entered the premises and threatened staff before taking a sum of cash and fleeing the scene on foot.
The men were later seen getting into a vehicle that made its way into the M9 in the Kildare area.
The vehicle finally came to a stop when it came off the road and collided with a ditch.
Following the crash, the two occupants of the car attempted to flee on foot, and a chase ensued.

A garda spokesperson said: "With the assistance of the Garda Air Support Unit and Garda Dog Unit, both suspects were located and arrested.
"A search of the suspects’ vehicle recovered an amount of cash as well as an imitation firearm, a hammer and other items.
"Both males, aged in their 20s, were taken to Clondalkin Garda Station and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
"They have since been released, and a file will now be prepared for the DPP."
