Gardai arrest young man after cannabis seizure at home in Navan, Co Meath

A young man was arrested after a drugs seizure at a home in Co Meath.

The man, in his 20s, was taken into custody after €70,000 worth of cannabis was recovered from a house on the Trim Road in Navan.

Gardai carried out the search at around 1.35pm on Wednesday.

The man, who was arrested at the scene, was due to appear before Trim District Court after being charged with the incident.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí carried out a search at a house in the Trim Road area of Navan on 5/6/19 at approximately 1:35pm.

"Cannabis plants (pending analysis) were discovered with an estimated value of €70,000.

"A man aged in his 20s was arrested at the scene and has been charged in relation to the incident. He is due to appear before Trim District Court this morning."
