Gardai arrest woman and two men over death of man found in burning car in Lucan, Co Dublin

Three people have been arrested in connection with the death of a man found in a burning car in Dublin last month.

Wayne Whelan, 42, was discovered in the vehicle which was set alight in Lucan on November 18.

He was shot before being left in a Toyota Corolla which was set on fire in Mount Andrew Rise.

Gardai have arrested two men and a woman in relation to their investigation.

A spokesman said: "Both males are being detained under the provisions of section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007, while the female is detained under the provisions of section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.

"All three are currently being detained at Dublin Garda Stations."
