Gardai arrest uninsured, disqualified driver who was stopped doing 155km/h on M11 motorway in Wexford and seize cocaine - but punters notice odd item among haul

An uninsured, disqualified driver was arrested after he was stopped doing 155km/h on a motorway last night.

The driver, who gave a false name and address, also saw his car seized by Wexford gardai during the incident on the M11 on Saturday.

Gardai also found €2,800 worth of cocaine after searching the car.

But after Wexford gardai posted a picture of the haul on Facebook, punters could only notice one thing - a can of beans that was seemingly part of the seizure.

Gardai said: "Gardaí from the Wexford Divisional Roads Policing Unit stopped a car travelling at 155 k.p.h. on the M11 last night.

"Gardaí searched the car and seized €2,800 of cocaine. The driver gave a false name and address. Gardaí discovered he was disqualified from driving and had no Insurance. Driver arrested. Car seized."

One person asked: "What’s the story with the beans?!"

A commenter said: "If only he had the Heinzsight to slow down."

Another added: "They got them to spill the beans."

One guy may be onto the answer, however, as he said: "It's a fake tin that you unscrew to put money in. Available at your local locksmith. Genius idea 'til everyone got them."

Mwanwhile, €34,000 worth of cocaine was seized after a raid in Cork last night.

Gardai tweeted: "Gardaí attached to the Divisional Drugs unit in Anglesea Street, Cork carried out a search under warrant yesterday afternoon and seized €34,000 of cocaine. One man arrested and remains in custody."
