Gardai arrest unaccompanied learner driver for speeding

Gardaí in Naas arrested a learner driver on Wednesday after stopping a car which was speeding near Rathcoffey in Co. Kildare.

The car was travelling at 80 kilometers per hour in a 50 kilometers per hour zone.

Gardai discovered that the driver had a learner permit and was driving unaccompanied.

The motorist was subsequently arrested and the car was seized.

An Garda Síochána shared the incident on their official Twitter account.

This morning, Naas gardaí stopped another car which was being driven by an unaccompanied learner driver and hadn’t been taxed in over 200 days.

Gardaí seized the car and shared the situation on Twitter using the hashtag #SaferRoads.
