Gardai arrest two men over house fire in Blanchardstown, Dublin

Gardai arrested two men yesterday in connection with a fire at a house in Dublin on Saturday morning.

Two people were in the house at Westway View in Blanchardstown at the time but managed to escape uninjured.

On Sunday, gardai arrested the two men who were later released without charge.

A garda spokesperson said: "Both men were arrested yesterday afternoon, Sunday May 5, 2019 in the Blanchardstown area and detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 – Criminal Justice Act 1984.

"Gardaí carried out a number of subsequent searches in connection with this investigation.

"Both men have been released without charge and a file will now be prepared for the information of the Director of Public Prosecutions. Investigations are ongoing."
