Gardai arrest third man in connection to Fairview assault causing 'serious injuries' to man in his 60s

Gardai have arrested a third man in his 20s, in connection with the ongoing investigation into an assault incident which occurred at Fairview Strand, Dublin 3, on the Bank Holiday Monday (June 7).

He is currently detained at Clontarf Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The two other men arrested in connection with this incident have since been released.

A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions by gardai.

A man in his 60s was allegedly assaulted by a number of individuals, which is believed to have occurred on late Monday evening, June 7.

Gardai were called to the scene just after 11pm, and found the man unconscious.

He was then taken to the Mater Hospital where he was treated for serious injuries.
