Nine people were arrested in connection with drug offences during a Day of Action in Co Carlow.
Gardai made the arrests following 10 searches and 20 checkpoints in the county on Wednesday.
Eights suspects were charged and are due to appear in court in the coming weeks.
A garda statement said: "A day of action was conducted today in the Carlow District targeting recently committed local crime and drug offences.
"The operation was led by Carlow Detective Unit and assisted by the Community Policing Unit, Roads Policing Unit and the Regular Units.
"A total of 9 people were arrested, 10 searches conducted and 20 high visibility checkpoints conducted aimed at disrupting travelling criminals.
"Eight people were charged with various offences and will appear in court in the coming weeks. The searches culminated in the seizure of €600 worth of cannabis herb and smaller quantaties of assorted drugs.
"A crime prevention stand was set up by the Community Policing Unit in Carlow District Credit Union with the focus being on An Garda Siochana's Winter Burglary campaign as well as as fraud/bogus callers.
"A visit to the Cairdeas Centre in Tullow by Gdai. Leahy and Bergin, Carlow Community Policing Unit incorporated a talk on Personal Safety & Street Safe."
