A motorist has been arrested for dangerous driving after they smashed the speed limit by over 100km/h.
Gardai clocked the driver travelling at 225km/h - 140m/h - on the M1.
The speeder was caught while heading southbound at Drumleck near Ardee, Co Louth.
Gardai nabbed the driver while performing a speed checkpoint on the motorway.
A garda tweet said: "Ardee Gardaí performed a speed checkpoint southbound on the M1 Motorway at Drumleck detected a car travelling at 225kmn in a 120km zone. Driver arrested and charged with dangerous driving."
