A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the murder of Paul Jones.
The 55-year-old was found dead in his house on the Bandon Road on Saturday afternoon with suspected stab wounds.
Gardai have confirmed a man, in his early 40s, and a woman, in her 50s, were arrested on Tuesday morning in connection with the murder, CorkBeo reports.
The woman is being detained at Togher Garda Station while the man is detained at Mayfield Garda Station.
A garda spokesperson said: "Following the discovery of the body of a man in his 50s in a house on the Bandon Road, Cork on Saturday 7th September 2019, a female in her early 50s and a male in his early 40s have been arrested today Tuesday 10th September 2019 on suspicion of murder.
"The female is being detained at Togher Garda Station while the male is being detained at Mayfield Garda Station. Both are detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. No further information is available at this time."
