Gardai arrest man and seize drugs and weapons after operation in Fingal towns

Gardai have seized an array of objects including weapons, drugs, and a sum of cash this afternoon as part of an operation in the Fingal area of Dublin.

As part of the search, €11,000 of suspected Cocaine was found at the scene, along with €2,500 of suspected Cannabis.

Weapons seized from the premises included one imitation firearm, knives and other offensive weapons.

As well as this, a sum of cash and mobile phones were also taken from the properties.

A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana said: "On Friday the 2nd August 2019 the Balbriggan Tasking Unit, assisted by the Balbriggan Detective Unit and Garda National Dog Unit conducted a search of five premises across the district in Balbriggan, Rush and Skerries."

During the search, the following items were seized: €11,000 approx of suspected Cocaine (pending analysis) €2,500 approx of suspected Cannabis (pending analysis), one imitation firearm, knives and other offensive weapons, a sum of cash , and mobile phones.

"A 19 year old male was charged and bailed in relation to this search while another 29 year old male was arrested and is being detained at Balbriggan Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996."
