Gardai arrest man after seizing cannabis worth €165,000 in Wexford

Gardai seized a massive haul of cannabis worth over €100,000 and arrested a man in Wexford this afternoon.

Officers from the Carlow / Kilkenny Divisional Drugs Unit assisted by Enniscorthy Drugs Unit conducted a search at a property near Bunclody as part of an operation targeting the supply of controlled drugs in the south east of the country.

Gardaí recovered five kilogrammes of cannabis herb along with 80 cannabis plants (analysis pending).

The enormous haul is estimated to be worth €165,000.

A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene.

A garda spokesperson said: "The man was taken to Carlow Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking Act) Act, 1996."
