Gardai arrest four people in connection to armed cash robbery in Crumlin

Gardai have arrested four people in connection to armed cash robbery in Crumlin.

Three men, two aged in their 20s and one in his 50s, and one woman, aged in her 20s were arrested in connection with an armed cash in transit robbery.

It happened around 12:15pm on June 3 outside a post office on the Old County Road in Dublin 12.

At the time, a man armed with what appeared to be a firearm approached an employee transporting a cash box and threatened him.

The male gunman fled the scene with the cash box and got into a Ford Focus car, which subsequently drove at speed in the direction of the Clonard Road.

No injuries were reported at the time of the incident but a vehicle was subsequently recovered by gardai and was technically examined.

Gardai had earlier issued an appeal for any witnesses and for anyone with information to come forward.

The four suspects are currently being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, at various Dublin garda stations.

Investigations are ongoing.
