Gardai arrest five in probe into daylight attempted murder of man in Coolock, Dublin

Gardai have arrested five people as part of a probe into an attempted murder of a man last year.

A man in his 30s was shot a number of times when a lone man forced his way into a house at around 2pm on Wednesday, May 20 2020 at Cromcastle Drive in Kilmore, Coolock, north Dublin.

Five people - four men, two aged in their 30s, one in his 40s and one in his 20s and one woman in her 30s - were arrested during an operation in north Dublin this morning in connection with a probe into the attempted murder.

They are currently detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 at various Garda Stations throughout the DMR North Division and can be held for up to seven days, gardai said.

A Garda spokesperson added in a statement: "Today’s arrests are the first in the case to date. The injured man has since recovered from the incident.
