Gardai arrest driver after they reverse into patrol car and test positive for four different drugs

A dangerous drug driver found themselves in hot water after they reversed into a garda patrol car.

Following the incident that took place in Arklow, Co Wicklow, the driver of the small light blue Nissan Micra admitted to having no car insurance.

The motorist was then arrested after testing positive for four drugs – cocaine, opiates, benzodiazepines and cannabis.

A blood sample was taken at the garda station and was sent for analysis.

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí in Arklow had a full house this evening.

"The driver of this vehicle reversed into a patrol car. Admitted no insurance. Drager tested with positive results for drugs.

"Arrested at the scene and blood sample taken at station.

"Court to follow."
