Gardai arrest driver after mobility app shows major reason why they shouldn't be behind the wheel

The gardai have arrested one driver after their mobility app showed a major reason why they shouldn't be behind the wheel.

Naas Roads Policing Unit were on patrol in Newbridge when it was found that the driver in question was already disqualified.

The car was seized and the driver was arrested with proceedings to follow.

The same unit carried out a checkpoint in Kildare town and seized two cars.

One driver was an unaccompanied learner driver with no L-plates while the other driver had no insurance.

Fixed charge penalty notices were issued to both drivers.

Meanwhile, in Tempelogue, gardai from Rathmines were on patrol when a driver pulled out dangerously in front of a patrol car.

After pulling over the driver, it was discovered that the driver was an unaccompanied learner driver with no L-plates displayed. A fixed charge penalty notice was issued and proceedings will follow.
