Gardai arrest disqualified motorcyclist with fake licence for drug-driving in Cahir, Co Tipperary

A motorcyclist disqualified from driving was arrested after testing positive for cannabis.

The motorist also displayed a fake licence to the gardai who later seized his bike.

The uninsured road user was stopped in Cahir, Co Tipperary. They subsequently failed a roadside breath test.

A garda tweet said: "Cahir Gardai stopped the driver of a motorcycle earlier today.

"Driver discovered to be disqualified and the fake licence was seized. Also tested positive for cannabis.

"Driver arrested. Motorbike seized. Driver charged to appear before court."

Meanwhile, a driver in Dublin had their vehicle seized as it wasn't it didn't have valid tax or NCT discs for over a year.

A tweet said: "Gardaí in Irishtown stopped this car today.

"No Tax/ NCT for over a year, driver thought someone else had looked after that! Car seized and proceedings to follow."
