Gardai arrest boy after 'pre-organised fights' between teenagers in Midleton, Co Cork

Gardai were busy in Midleton, Co Cork on Saturday evening after a number of "organised" fights between teenagers.

From 6pm to 8pm there were a number of incidents reported to gardai who were called to disperse large groups of youths fighting with each other.

Local reports suggest that fights between the teenage boys had been pre-arranged and "rematches" have already been scheduled, Cork Live reports.

Gardai arrested one teenager in connection with the violence while other suspects were identified.

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí were called to a number of incidents in Midleton between 6pm and 8pm on Saturday following reports of disturbances involving groups of youths.
