Gardai appeal for witnesses following sexual assault of 3 Dublin teens in Courtown

Gardai have made a renewed appeal for witnesses following the sexual assault of three Dublin teenagers in the popular tourist town of Courtown, Wexford.

The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday morning along the walkway at the Harbour at 12:15am.

Sources told Dublin Live that three teens had suffered injuries in the attack, two of whom are only 14-years-old.

It is believed a group of men were responsible for the attack after the girls were set upon and sexually assault in the busy Burrow area just off the beach.

The three girls are currently in the process of being interviewed by a team of specially trained interviewers.

The scene at the tourist hotspot has been reopened following an earlier examination.

An incident room has been established at Gorey Garda Station and Gardai have thanked all witnesses who have already come forward.

They are also appealing for anyone else who may have seen anything to contact the garda station on 053 943 0690 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

A spokesman for the gardai told Dublin Live: "Investigations are continuing. Due to the sensitive nature of the investigation and the ages of those involved, no further information is available at this time."
