Two women rushed to hospital after serious multi-car crash in Co Wexford

Two women were rushed to hospital after a serious multi-car crash in Wexford.

Gardaí attended the scene of the three-car crash on the R734 between Slaught and The Five Roads at around 4pm on Tuesday.

A woman in her 50s, who was the driver of one car, was taken to Tallaght University Hospital where her condition is described as critical.

A second woman, who is in her 20s, and was the driver of another vehicle, was rushed to Waterford University Hospital to be treated for her injuries which are thought to be serious but not life-threatening.

No other injuries were reported at the scene.

An examination of the scene has been completed by Garda forensic collision investigators and the road has reopened.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision or who was travelling in the area and have camera footage to contact them.
