Gardai are appealing for information after a man's body was recovered from the Grand Canal in Dublin on Sunday.
The man, who was in his 20s, was found dead in the Dolphin's Barn section of the waterway.
His remains were removed to Dublin City Mortuary where a post mortem exam has taken place.
It is understood that the discovery is being treated as a tragic accident.
Gardai are appealing for information in relation to the man's death, and are particularly interested in speaking with people who were in the Dolphin's Barn area along the Grand Canal in the early hours of Sunday morning.
They are also asking motorists who may have dash cam footage to contact them.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the discovery of a body of a man in the Grand Canal at Dolphins Barn on Sunday afternoon, 26th September 2021.
"The body of the man, aged in his 20s was removed from the scene and taken to Dublin City Mortuary where a post mortem has taken place.
"Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have been in the Dolphins Barn area particularly along the Grand Canal between the hours of 2:00am and 5:00am on the 26th September 2021, to come forward.
"Any road users who were travelling at the time with camera footage are asked to make this available to Gardaí.
