Gardai appeal for public information after young man, 18, dies in stabbing incident in Dundrum, south Dublin

Gardai are appealing for public information in relation to a fatal stabbing which left a young man dead on Friday evening.

An 18-year-old man tragically died following the violent incident which took place at Finsbury Park, Dundrum, south Dublin.

The man was rushed to St James's Hospital and was pronounced dead shortly after arriving in hospital, Dublin Live reports.

Gardai are seeking to speak with anyone who was in the area when the incident occurred at around 8.10pm.

It is understood from initial enquiries that a number of people were in the vicinity at the time.

A post mortem examination is expected to be carried out later today.

The scene is currently preserved and a full Garda technical examination will take place this morning.
