Gardai are appealing for the driver of a blue Skoda who may have witnessed a fatal crash in Meath to come forward.
A white Citroen Berlingo van and a lorry collided on the N3 near Whitegate at around 3.40pm on Thursday, December 19.
A man in his 40s was rushed to Cavan General Hospital with serious head injuries, but died four days later.
Appealing for witnesses this morning, gardai said they were 'anxious' to speak to a road user who may have witnessed the collision.
A spokesman said: "Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have information regarding this incident to come forward.
"Gardaí are also appealing to any road users who may have camera footage who were travelling between Kells, Co Meath and Virginia, Co Cavan on Thursday, 19th December between 3pm and 4.30pm.
"Gardaí are anxious to speak with the occupants of a blue Skoda car (no further description) which was travelling northbound towards Virginia, Co Cavan who may have witnessed the collision.
"Any information should be directed to Kells Garda Station on 046 928 0820, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station."
