Gardai anxious to speak to driver of car that stopped at scene of fatal collision in Ballinteer, Co Dublin

Gardai have said they are anxious to speak to the driver of a BMW that stopped at the scene of a fatal collision in Dublin.

Tressa McKernan, 75, died in hospital five days after the tragic incident on April 8.

She was attempting to cross the road at Ballinteer Avenue at around 7.45pm when she was struck by a motorcycle, Dublin Live reports.

After being transferred to Beaumont Hospital she died from her injuries on April 13.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí at Dundrum Garda Station investigating a fatal collision in Ballinteer on the 8th April 2019 are appealing for further information.

"Investigating Gardaí are particularly anxious to speak to the driver of a silver BMW who stopped at the scene of the collision.

"Anyone with information or who witnessed this collision is asked to contact Dundrum Garda Station 01-6665600 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111."
