Gardai and Revenue officers arrested a woman and seized over €70,000 worth of cannabis after launching an intelligence-led raid on a home in North Dublin.
Officers from Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs, the Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR) North Divisional Drugs Unit launched the raid yesterday at a home in the Kilmore area.
The woman, 37, was arrested at the scene and is currently being held at Ballymun Garda Station.
The full statement from Revenue read: "Yesterday, (05/05/2021), as part of an intelligence led operation, Revenue officers seized 3.6kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €72,000 following the search, under warrant, of a premises in the Kilmore area of Dublin.
"The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR) North Divisional Drugs Unit.
"A 37 year old woman was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 at Ballymun Garda Station.
"Investigations are ongoing.
"This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
