Gardai and Armed Support Unit called to Cork estate after shots fired at a house

Gardai and the Armed Support Unit were called to a housing estate in Cork last night after shots were fired at a home.

Officers from Gurranabraher attended the scene at Ardmore Avenue in Knocknaheeney at approximately 10.40pm on Thursday night.

It's understood that there had been a dispute at a house in the area earlier in the day which locals say saw a group of men involved in an altercation outside a house.

Later that evening, local residents were shocked to hear what one local described as a series of gunshots.

A garda spokeswoman told The Irish Daily Mirror:" A search was carried out in the area and Gardaí conducted a number of patrols over the course of the evening.

"No criminal damage was caused during the incident. No arrests have been made. Investigations ongoing."
