Gardai were able to catch out a driver for a major misdemeanour - after they drove by and heard them revving their engine while in a supermarket car park.
Officers attached to the Road Policing Unit in Dundalk Garda station were on patrol on Thursday evening in the town.
However, while they were out and about, they heard the driver of a car revving their engine and speeding while in the carpark of a Tesco.

They were curious, so stopped the driver to investigate.
Upon doing that, it was found that the driver had a UK Provisional licence - which is not valid in Ireland.
The car was seized.
The rules surrounding UK licenses are clear, as Citizens Information explain.
"If you hold a UK driving licence, you can drive in Ireland if you live in the UK and are visiting Ireland.
"You are no longer able to drive on your UK licence if you live in Ireland.
"You can still exchange it for an Irish licence provided the licence is valid or is not expired for more than 1 year."
