A number of Garda cars rushed to a retail unit in a popular Irish town as over 1,000 cannabis plants worth more than €1.3 million were seized during a drug bust.
Shortly before 9pm on Saturday, units connected to Operation Tara conducted a search of a premises in Ashbourne, Co.Meath.
A grow house was located on the property - with Gardaí saying that approximately 1,100 cannabis plants were discovered during the operation.
As of yet, no arrests have been made, but Garda units still remain on the site on Sunday morning.
Investigations are continuing into the incident.
A spokesperson for the Gardaí said:
"As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí have seized €1.3 million worth of cannabis following a search operation in Co Meath last night, Saturday 28th August 2021.
"Shortly before 9pm last night, Gardaí conducted a search of premises in Ashbourne. A grow house was located on the property. Approximately 1,100 cannabis plants (pending analysis) were discovered during the operation.
"No arrests have been made, investigations are ongoing."
