These were the frightening scenes in north Dublin yesterday as gardai faced off with a young man during a night of chaos.
Officers arrested one person in Balcurris Gardens, Ballymun after a spate of criminal damage across Sunday evening.
A number of cars and vans were damaged during the rampage in the northside suburb last night.
Gardai arrived on the scene shortly before 7pm and became embroiled in a stand-off with one man in a garden outside a house.
Manic screams could be heard across the Dublin 11 area as Gardai struggled with the suspect.
A short time later, a man in his early 20s was arrested. He has subsequently been charged over the incident.
A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "We attended an incident of criminal damage in the Balcurris Gardens area of Ballymun, Co. Dublin, that occurred on the 7 of March at approximately 7pm."
He continued: "It is reported that a number of vehicles received damage over the course of this incident."
He added: "One male aged in his early-20s was arrested and charged in relation to this incident and is due to appear before a sitting of Dublin District Court."
