A young Garda staff member has been arrested for allegedly leaking confidential information.
The woman, in her 20s, worked closely with the superintendent at a south Dublin Garda Station and had access to classified documents.
A source told the Irish Mirror that a suspected criminal stopped at a checkpoint in Dublin earlier this week was in conversation with a phone number linked to the woman.
An investigation was launched and it's understood her home was searched on Wednesday in connection with the probe.

A garda spokeswoman confirmed to the Irish Mirror that a woman in her 20s was arrested on Tuesday as "part of an ongoing criminal investigation".
She added: " An Garda Síochána has no further comment at this time."
