Garda rushed to hospital after crash as Tipperary road closed

A garda was rushed to hospital after a two-car crash in Tipperary yesterday.

The collision – which saw a squad car collide with another vehicle – took place in the village of Cashel, with the road closed off as a result of the incident.

The injured garda, a female, was taken to South Tipperary General Hospital for medical examination and observation after the incident, Tipperary Live reports.

The episode took place on John Street in the village – not far from the village cathedral, St John's.

The street was subsequently reopened after the two vehicles were taken away from the scene of the incident.

"One driver was conveyed to Tipperary General Hospital for treatment of their injuries and the road has since been reopened."
