Garda probe launched after petrol bombing incident in Drogheda, Co Louth

A garda probe has been launched after a suspected petrol bomb attack on a house in Drogheda.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, at a house in in Treadagh View, Drogheda, Co Louth.

A number of people were in the house at the time of the incident but no injuries were reported.

In a statement Gardai said: "Gardaí attended an incident of criminal damage by fire which occurred at a house in Treadagh View, Drogheda at approx 1am on 26th May 2019.

"A number of people were in the house at the time, no injuries were reported. Investigations are ongoing, no arrests have been made."

This latest incident comes just days after Gardai arrested 18 people in a "day of action" in Drogheda last week.

The arrests were made after 34 searches were carried out as part of an operation investigating criminality - Operation Stratus.
