Garda probe launched after petrol bomb attack on house in Drogheda, Co Louth

A garda probe has been launched following another petrol bomb attack on a house in Drogheda.

The incident occurred at around 2:15am on Tuesday morning at a house in the Tredagh View area of the Co Louth town.

According to gardai, the house was 'extensively damaged' but no injuries were reported to the occupants.

In a statement, gardai said: "Gardaí in Drogheda are investigating an incident of criminal damage by fire that occurred in the Tredagh View area of Drogheda at approximately 2.15am on 4th June 2019.

"There was extensive damage to the premises as well as smoke and fire damage.

"No injuries reported to the occupants of the premises.

"No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing."

This latest petrol bombing incident comes just over a week after a similar incident in the same housing estate

On 26 May, a garda probe was launched after a petrol bomb attack on a house also in the Treadagh View area.

It is not yet known if the two incidents are linked.
