A garda member has been praised for surprising an elderly lady with a gift days after she came out of hospital.
A social media user highlighted the lovely story after his neighbour was the recipient of the present from a local officer.
Aidan Hynes tweeted: "My elderly neighbour v ill this month. Let out hospital days ago. Squad car pulls up in street yesterday. She thought more trouble! Garda had hamper for her. She asked how guards knew she was ill. Says he, we know everything that goes in area. Beautiful Xmas gift."
