A Meath motorist who drove away from a checkpoint was eventually caught up with by gardai who were in stitches at what they found next.
We've seen plenty of awful attempts at doctoring out-of-date tax discs over the years, but this one has taken the biscuit as the worst one ever seen.
Ashbourne gardai posted a pic showing a disc with a hole put in it in an apparent attempt to turn a "1" into a "9".
The less-than-artistic motorist had his car seized and was rewarded with a day out in court for his efforts.

Gardai said: "Ashbourne Gardai were conducting a checkpoint in Ratoath this morning when a car turned around and decided to drive away.
"The car was stopped a short distance away. This was the insurance disc displayed. Car seized and prosecution to follow."For the latest news and breaking news visit dublinlive.ie/news .
