Garda manhunt underway to capture thugs who smashed windows and stole money in terrifying break-in

A garda hunt is underway to find thugs who smashed a car window before stealing a sum of money in Meath.

Investigating Gardai are on the search for the thieves who targeted a White Volkswagen Golf which was parked in the gate-way of a field in the Collierstown area.

The owner left the car locked and went into the field at about 9:30am and when he returned one hour later, the front and rear passenger windows were smashed and cash stolen.

The road is a busy main road between Skryne and Rathfeigh Cross and is popular with commuters and walkers.

Gardai are confident that someone may have witnessed some suspicious activity around this time and are asking them to come forward.

They said: "Dunshaughlin Garda Station would like to talk with anyone who may have spotted any suspicious activity. Please call 01-8010600 if you can help."
