Garda manhunt after armed thugs threaten staff in terrifying robbery in Meath shop

Gardai are appealing for help tracking down two men who threatened staff with a gun and a baseball bat at a shop in Co Meath.

The terrifying incident happened at a Centra store on the Main Street of the town of Nobber last night.

Two raiders entered the shop at around 7.20pm on Friday, one was armed with a baseball bat and the other with a handgun.

The two men threatened staff and then emptied cash from the register into a bag.

They then left the shop and drove off in a black VW Polo in the direction of Navan.

Officers said that one of the men dropped the firearm on the floor during the incident and left it behind.

The first man was described as wearing a two-tone black jacket with a pocket on the right sleeve and a black hood up over his head, grey coloured combat style trousers and white runners.

The second man was wearing a navy blue rain jacket with the hood down, grey tracksuit bottoms and navy Nike runners and white socks. He was also wearing a dark coloured woolen hat and a black facemask.

A garda spokesman said: "Any witnesses or anybody who may have information that could assist, including anybody with dashcam footage, should contact the Detective Unit at Navan Garda Station on 046-9079930 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666111."

They added that no arrests have been made at this time, and investigations are still ongoing.
