Gardaí have arrested a man after a major drug seizure on a busy Irish motorway.
On Saturday afternoon, as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of drugs, officers attached to the Carlow Detective Unit targeted a vehicle on the M9.
As part of the operation, they stopped and searched the vehicle.
During the course of the search, cannabis with an estimated value of over €460,000 was recovered by officials.
The drugs seized will now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
A man aged in his 30s was arrested in connection with this seizure and detained at Carlow Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
Gardai say that the investigation is ongoing.
