Garda investigation launched as woman, 50s, dies suddenly at her home in Dundalk, Co Louth

An investigation is under way following the sudden death of a woman in Co Louth.

The woman, in her late 50s, was found dead on Sunday evening at her home in Dundalk.

Gardai are investigating the death and will prepare a file for the Coroners Court.

A spokeswoman told the Irish Mirror: "Gardaí in Dundalk are investigating the sudden death of a woman in her late 50's that was discovered in her home this evening, Sunday 19th January, 2020 at approximately 6p.m.

"The woman's body has been removed to the mortuary where a post mortem will take place in due course.

"A file will be prepared for the Coroners Court. Investigations ongoing."
