Garda investigation launched after body of woman, 50s, discovered in house in Killiney, south Dublin

A garda investigation has been launched after the discovery of a body of a woman in a house in south Dublin.

The woman, believed to be in her 50s, was discovered in the house in Killiney earlier today.

Dublin Live understands that the circumstances surrounding the death are currently unexplained, and a garda probe is underway to establish them.

A post mortem is expected to take place to determine the direction of the investigation.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí at Dún Laoghaire are investigating the discovery of a body of a female in her 50s in unexplained circumstances at a house in the Killiney area earlier today Tuesday 31st March 2020.

"The house is currently preserved. The course of the investigation will be determined by the post-mortem which is scheduled to take place tomorrow Wednesday 1st April 2020.

"No further information is available at this time. No Garda spokesperson is available."
