Garda investigation launched after body found in south Dublin park

A body has been found in the early hours of the morning in south Dublin.

The discovery was made in Lorcan O'Toole Park in the Kimmage area of Dublin 12.

Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene at around 7.45am on Monday.

The local coroner has been notified and the body has been removed from the scene.

Gardai said a post-mortem will take place which will determine the course of their investigation.

A spokesperson told Dublin Live: "Gardai are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body in the Lorcan O’Toole Park in Kimmage, Co Dublin at approximately 7:45am earlier today, the 2nd of August 2021.

"The local coroner has been notified and the body is en route for a post-mortem, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation."
