Gardai investigate as body of woman, 60s, pulled from water in Co Donegal

A woman's body was pulled from the water in Co Donegal on Sunday morning.

The tragic discovery was made near the pier in the Gaeltacht village of Teelin.

Emergency services rushed to the scene where the body of a woman in her 60s was found in the water. Her remains were brought to Letterkenny University Hospital.

A post mortem exam is due to take place in the coming days.

Officers said that they are "investigating all circumstances" surrounding the discovery.

However it is understood that foul play is not currently suspected at this time.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances following the discovery of a body of a female in her 60s in the water at Teelin this morning.

"Her body has been removed to Letterkenny University Hospital where a post-mortem will take place at a later date."
