Garda hunt underway for dangerous thief who held shop assistant at knife-point before stealing till in Blackcastle, Meath

Gardai are currently hunting for a dangerous thief who is at large after he threatened staff with a knife before fleeing on foot with the shop till.

The armed man entered a shop in Blackcastle, Meath at around 3:50pm on Sunday and held a shop assistant at knife-point while demanding the contents of the till.

The culprit fled on foot in the direction of the rear of the shopping centre with a small amount of cash.

The raider is described as being of average height and slim build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white jumper, black tracksuit bottoms with white stripes down the side of the legs as well as gloves and a scarf.
