Garda hunt for knifeman who threatened taxi driver, 60s, in South Dublin

A thug knifeman threatened a veteran taxi driver before fleeing the scene in South Dublin.

Gardai are on the hunt for the man who jumped into a taxi before pulling a knife on the driver, 60s, before making threats in Crumlin.

The terrified taximan managed to hold onto his valuables and the thug fled the scene.

There were no serious injuries reported.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred at approximately 11.30pm on Saturday 15th February 2020 on the Ardagh Road, Crumlin, Dublin 12.

"A man in his 60s was allegedly threatened in his car by a man carrying a knife. No items were taken during the incident and no serious injuries were reported.

 

"No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing."

The incident was the second in the area this week as another driver also reported something similar on Thursday.
