A Garda is being praised for his "Christmas spirit" after making sure one Dublin man received his takeaway order over the weekend.
John Larkin couldn't believe it when a member of the force turned up at his door with the meal on Sunday instead of a delivery driver.
He thanked the Garda for his thoughtful actions in a now viral tweet.
He said: "Garda arrived at door with our food delivery order - having arrested the delivery man for driving under the influence (drugs) - he decided to deliver it! Thanks @GardaTraffic."
In another comment on the post, John wrote: "I was so confused! My first thought was “why is the delivery man dressed up as a Garda.”
People reacted in their droves to the heartwarming post and hailed the Garda for his "wonderful act of kindness".
One person said: "This is why I love Ireland. We do the right thing rather than the correct thing. Well done @GardaTraffic."
A second wrote: "Only in this great little country would this happen."
A third added: "Class. A Christmas miracle."
Someone else said: "To be fair, the Garda was imbued with Christmas spirit. It is a wonderful act of kindness. Massive kudos to that officer."
While another person wrote: "Not all heroes wear capes."
Several people were also curious to know if John tipped the Garda for his trouble.
He responded: "My dad suggested a glass of whiskey would be appropriate...I decided a bewildered thank you was sufficient!"
When asked to comment about the heroics of one of their members, a spokesperson for the gardai told the Irish Mirror it was "not the policy of An Garda Síochána to comment on material published online by third parties".
