Garda clock motorist speeding along M9 at 202kph

A speeding driver could face court action after Garda Traffic Police clocked the suspect on the M9 driving at 202 kilometres per hour on Friday evening (October 15).

Carlow Road Policing Unit have been conducting speed checks on the M9 and were staggered when a motorist sped past at 202kph.

The driver's details have been reported and he could face court, a ban and hefty fine. Carlow RPU have warned drivers to stay safe on the roads

Garda Traffic tweeted at 10.39pm: "Friday evening speed checks on the M9 by Carlow Roads Policing Unit (RPU) as part of ongoing SaferRoads Operations.

"Car pictured was detected travelling at 202km/h. Dangerous Driving proceedings to follow.

"Please SlowDown and stay safe on our roads this weekend."
