Garda checkpoints: Six vehicle seized by officers for same mistake as fines issued in Dublin

Gardaí seized six vehicles from road users all for the same offence while working at a checkpoint this week.

Officers in Dublin, assisted by one of the road policing units, were stationed at a regular checkpoint in Clondalkin.

Not one of the vehicles had any insurance and none of them had any tax either.

A number of fines were issued to motorists as a result.

A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí attached to Clondalkin Garda Station assisted by the DMR West Roads Policing Unit performed a checkpoint at the Outer Ring Rd, Clondalkin and seized 6 vehicles for no insurance and no tax."

All of the vehicles were seized, with the owners being issued with fines (An Garda Siochána)
