An Irish motorist is facing a big fine or even jail after being caught for breaking a number of road safety rules.
The road user was travelling in the southeast of the country recently when gardai spotted their car.
An "eagle-eyed" sergeant and another garda pulled the vehicle over and discovered several road safety breaches.
The car's number plate was "almost completely obscured" by dirt which prompted the gardai to carry out further checks.
They found that the car was not taxed or insured and that the driver did not hold a valid license.
Gardai seized the vehicle under Section 41 of the Road Traffic Act and the motorist will face further proceedings.
In a post online, gardai from the Waterford/Kilkenny/Carlow division said: "No Licence, No Insurance, No Tax............. NO CAR.
"An 'Eagle Eyed' Sergeant spotted this vehicle while out and about with his younger colleague.
"The almost completely obscured (by muck) number plate demanded further inspection which yielded an untaxed, uninsured vehicle being driven by an unlicensed driver.
"Needless to say it was seized under Section 41 of the Road Traffic Act and further proceedings will follow."
