Garda checkpoints Ireland: Officers spot car on Blanchardstown patrol untaxed for record-deserving 4088 days

Gardaí seized a car from west Dublin yesterday morning that had not been taxed in 4,088 days.

The Ford Focus was stopped by Gardai in Blanchardstown who were on patrol on the Snugborough road.

As well as not being taxed for over eleven years, there was also no insurance certificate displayed on the vehicle.

The Gardai were able to check when the vehicle was last taxed by using the newly launched Active Mobility app.

This gives officers on patrol immediate access to intelligence stored on a range of databases, including driver, licencing and vehicle records.
